Yoga is well known for being a great way to relieve stress, help people relax, improve sleep, regulate emotions, increase empathy and improve mood.

Children are still learning how to control their big feelings; worry and stress is very new to them and it's easy for them to feel overwhelmed, as parents it is our job to give our children the tools to take control of their emotions and feel good again.

Yoga is all about creating focus, using movement to concentrate on the task at hand. This is a skill they can use in many areas of their life.

Yoga is a great way to develop Self-regulation. Self-regulation is the ability to recognise and change behaviour and emotion... and it is a skill that many adults have never gained. Self-regulation helps people to understand and solve their problems and adjust to new challenges.

“Yoga is a light which once lit will never dim. The better your practice, the brighter your flame.”

B.K. S. Iyengar.

Yoga is a physical activity, those who practice it regularly notice increased flexibility, increased upper body strength and increased mental clarity!

Everyone experiences stress... children may not have to pay bills or worry about jobs, but they do have to navigate disappointments and mistakes, work through school and friendships, and learn how the world works; this may look small to us, but to them it is all enormous. Yoga uses breathing techniques to calm the mind and nervous system, and movement to release tension and let go of negative energy.

Physical activities are a great way to release endorphins, making children feel happier and more positive.

Kids activities are a great social opportunity. Yoga is great for allowing children to explore friendships in a non-competitive environment and build their confidence. Kids yoga tends to focus on using songs, games and play to get kids moving and learning together. It is great for building self- esteem and for giving them the opportunity to reflect on things in their life.
